Dr. Jillian Woodruff, known as Dr. Jill, is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has the distinction of being able to converse with patients in 4 languages: English, Spanish, American Sign Language and conversational Mandarin Chinese. She earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology with a Neuroscience focus and Spanish Literature from Duke University. She then earned her Medical Degree from the University of Kentucky, completed an OB/GYN Internship at Cornell University/NY Presbyterian Hospital and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center/Mt. Sinai.  Dr. Jill decided to become an Obstetrician and Gynecologist because she enjoys “providing care and education to patients throughout their lives”. At home, in Anchorage, you will often find her volunteering at community events, having book discussions with her book club, planning events for children with the Jack & Jill of America, or shuttling her young children to and from activities.  She also enjoys date nights with her husband (also a physician, specializing in pain management), downhill and Nordic skiing, studying about hormones, and planning parties. Dr. Jill opened the doors to her private practice, Modern Gynecology & Skin, to provide a space for women to feel valued and heard while providing advanced gynecologic and aesthetic care. She has a special interest in the evaluation and treatment of hormone abnormalities using bioidentical hormone therapies and lifestyle changes.  She has a long-held interest in the evaluation and treatment of abnormal vaginal bleeding, specifically treated with office based and minimally invasive procedures. Finally, she works with a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate sexual health concerns and promote sexual wellness.  Dr. Jill states, “my goal is to deliver a personalized women’s care experience.  I am board certified, but I am not your traditional gynecologist.  I provide cutting edge medical care in a relaxing spa setting.” In 2019 Dr. Hill became the hose of “Line One”, a call-in health discussion radio show on Alaska Public Media, the local NPR affiliate.  As the host of “Line One” she enjoys engaging with listeners and sharing answers and education from experts.  Dr. Jill does not shy away from sensitive subjects and is grateful for the opportunity to have a dialogue about the health issues that concern her community.
